Senior Program Advisor

Supporting Senior Executive USAF Program Office. Advise, guide and support Department-wide senior level leadership on program objectives. Support senior government officials to create required packages relative the the program. Support technical writing, project planning, data management, and any publication and production coordination and administrative support in carrying out key functions. Should be familiar with DoD processes to coordinate and complete documents for review and signature. Must be comfortable consulting with staff throughout the Pentagon and the Department of Defense.

Anticipate the needs of Executive Staff and proactively address issues with an emphasis on sound judgment, initiative and confidentiality, with appropriate but minimal direction.  Work closely with a high-performing, fast-paced team to support government clients.  Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of various executives’ styles, methods of operation, and authorities.  Perform tasks in a variety of areas to include:

 

  • Tracking important milestones or actions for Executive staff
  • Prioritize work by considering its risk, importance, urgency, and potential business, organizational, and client implications.
  • Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures
  • Interact with clients, government officials and other executives in the private sector
  • Verbal and written communications must be timely and demonstrate the consistent ability to presents ideas and communicate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Drafting, writing and editing reports, briefs, correspondence and other documents
  • Laisse with key internal and external stakeholders, coordinating meetings

Essential Job Responsibilities

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for serving multiple customers requiring developing and managing plans across several subcontractors. Responsible for overseeing a program contained at one primary geographic location however covering remote locations and multiple business functions and employees directly assigned to program. Program may require new technologies. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Develops new business or expands services with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees including management level assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Ability to work onsite at the Pentagon. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience with AI/ML, Data Modeling
  • MS Office,  Agile Methodologies (Scrum)
  • Must have TS clearance, with ability to obtain SCI

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior experience at Pentagon.

  • Understanding of Congressional Funding Framework

 

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
