Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Technical Operations Specialist - Applies advanced knowledge of cyber defense, resilience, and the integration of cyber capabilities into the full spectrum of military operations. Supports special operations, including reconnaissance, unconventional warfare, and counter-terrorism actions, to develop innovative solutions that enhance the effectiveness of special forces missions. Performs analysis and transition planning for space technologies, contributing to the DoD's advancement of space power. Demonstrates familiarity with counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (counter-UAS), surface systems, underwater systems, autonomous systems, ground systems, and radio networks. Provides technical operations support, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems and processes across these domains. Guides the integration of leading capabilities and emerging technologies to support the execution of early contingency phases and operations plans, spanning tactical, operational, and strategic warfighting echelons. Facilitates tasks related to Cyber Situation Awareness and Cyber Network Exploitation capability areas by providing comprehensive technical and operational expertise. Assists in the deployment and functionality of advanced systems, ensuring seamless alignment with mission objectives. Supports After Action Reports (AAR) and data extraction processes, contributing to enhanced decision-making and operational readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record of contributing to successful team outcomes
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition and contracting processes
- Working familiarity with federal compliance standards (e.g., DFARS, ITAR)
- PMP, CISSP, or other relevant certifications preferred
