Job Description
HII, Mission Technologies has a need for an Information Operations (IO) Signals Engineering Technician. This role will entail working with projects or studies of broad scope and complexity. Our ideal applicant will be comfortable in a fast moving environment who is comfortable serving as a primary point of contact for the IO Signals operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Provide operations support during I/O Signals training events.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for I/O Signals operations.
- Provide training to other contract and military personnel on new systems to support I/O Signals training requirements.
- Participate in planning and provide recommendations for support of I/O Signals training.
- Evaluate feasibility of proposed I/O Signals training events.
- Identify requirements for interoperability between range systems and participating simulators or joint units’ equipment.
- Install and provide operations and maintenance support for new IO systems.
- Ensure that planned changes to IO Signals configuration and/or policies are coordinated with Cherry Point classified network administrators and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) to determine if any engineering or other changes are required.
- Support approved NSWC task directives to enhance or sustain IO Signals training capabilities.
- Ensure all configuration changes pursuant to the duties of this position are documented and approved in accordance with established processes
- When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must cease work and notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions.
- Must successfully complete all assigned training and ensure its entry into their training jacket, to include but not limited to, government assigned training in Total Workforce Management System (TWMS) and all other non-recurring training as assigned.
- Accurately document work performed with particular attention to detail.
- May be required to travel up to 50 % in performance of work, government Joint Travel Regulations are applicable to all travel.
- Work is scheduled by the manager or supervisor based on mission schedule and fleet requirements. Mission support requires shifting of schedules to accommodate fleet readiness and to ensure crew rest.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested and take direction from Senior IO Technicians.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and Contract Site Manager (CSM).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of related expereince.
- Previous experience supporting the NITE program.
- Clearance: Active SECRET security clearance.
Physical Requirements
Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
