Job Description

HII, Mission technologies is seeking an Access Controller, who will serve as the first point of contact for all visitors to facility. 
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide receptionist services and access control for Key West Tactical Training Range in accordance with work instructions.
  • Answer incoming calls, directs callers to requested persons, takes phone messages and tracks personnel who enter/exit the facility using visitor log.
  • Perform other routine clerical work as appropriate.
  • Ensure all visitors have proper identification, clearance level and need to know through verification via a Defense Information System for Security (DISS) Visit Authorization Request (VAR), if required, before allowing access to the building or its secure areas. Security access control (SAC) has the authority to deny unescorted level II access to any person that does not have the proper Visit requirements.
  • Caution visitors against the possession of prohibited materials.
  • Maintain current access roster.
  • Maintain log of all personnel entering or leaving the facilities.
  • Establish communications with the Security Manager of detachment squadrons to ensure that DISS VARs are sent prior to their arrival.
    • Review all VARs prior to detachments to ensure that the visiting unit’s VARs are valid and reflect the proper clearance level to permit access to secure areas.
    • Review daily flight schedules to verify all persons requiring access to the facility are on a VAR. if the SAC finds an individual that is not on Visit Request, they shall contact the unit to inform them that the individual will need a VAR to enter the facility.
    • Call issuing visitors’ Security Managers and notify them of any issues identified on VARs.
    • Issue and receive all Security badges, accounts for and inventory all visitor badges, and initial the visitor log daily before departing.I
      ensure approved escorts sign the visitor log when escorting visitors.
  • Must complete all assigned Training to include but not limited to monthly Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Training, government assigned Training and all other non-recurring Training as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager. work is scheduled by the Manager or supervisor based on mission schedule and fleet requirements.
  • Mission support may require shifting of schedules to accommodate fleet readiness.
  • Knowledgeable with the proper handling of classified material."
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 1 years related experience.
  • Clearance: Active SECRET security clearance.
     

Physical Requirements

Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines.
