Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Business Operations Manager who plays a pivotal role in coordinating all phases of Business Operations functions in support of overall cost, schedule, and performance for the program. This role oversees the overall Task Order acquisitions and procurements, working directly with Project Managers, Controllers, and assisting the PMO team to ensure policies are clearly communicated, processes are clearly defined, and support is provided to ensure project success.


The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Operations team, Program Managers and Project Leads to provide overall standard operating procedures, processes, knowledge management, and program performance. This position oversees all aspects of the PMO including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring, and summarizing progress of projects in compliance with all Program Deliverables. Prepares reports for government customers and Program Manager regarding the status of multiple ongoing projects.

What You Will Do

  • Oversees and integrates the acquisition aspects of the Program Management Office in support of ongoing projects, providing direct support to project managers and project controllers.
  • Provides overall technical and financial management of tasks and milestones associated with contractual agreements, including monitoring budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Reviews status of project acquisitions, actions, and deliverables; manages schedules and milestone events; and prepares status reports for government customers and senior management.
  • Leads the analysis of business requirements and monitors progress of acquisition support, including work performed, schedule of activities, and issues/concerns arising or potentially arising in future efforts.
  • Reviews and corrects as necessary all information deliverables for the contract before they are submitted for procurement actions.
  • Assesses issues in the PMO and develops resolutions to meet acquisition productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring the program's acquisition progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers and clients.
  • Aligns business operations activities and personnel with strategic mission and goals of the organization.
  • Standardizes business operations practices, develops SOPs and training to drive efficiencies in execution.
  • Develops and improves project management office policies and processes to ensure projects comply with organizational standards and policies.
  • Provides training and support to project managers, teams, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborates with Program Support Office and other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.
  • Tracks overall program performance through established metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports offering insights into project status, budget adherence, and resource utilization.
  • Supports SmartSheet Portal usage and improvements.
  • Interfaces with the Program Support Office (PSO) to drive standardized solutions across program objectives.
  • Maintains quality assurance procedures with all products and deliverables as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.

What We Are Looking For

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Prior experience monitoring budget and resource allocations.
  • 5+ years of program acquisition experience. 
  • Program support experience of $500M+. 
  • Strong understanding of FAR guidelines.
  • 3+ years managing a geoprahically dispersed team. 
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effeincent at using SmartSheet platform. 
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with senior level military leaders and executive leadership. 
  • Clearance: Posses and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
