HII- Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Military Advisor- Demolitions to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will leverage your extensive background in military demolitions to develop and deliver world-class training to international partners. You will be a key contributor to enhancing global security capabilities and counter-terrorism efforts. Come join our growing team today!

 

*Position: Remote and part time.

 

*Travel: This position requires episodic travel to OCONUS locations, often to remote and challenging environments. Expect deployments lasting several weeks to months at a time. Travel may include locations with limited infrastructure and security concerns.

What you will do

  • Develop, refine, and deliver comprehensive demolitions training programs, encompassing conventional and unconventional demolition techniques
  • Provide expert-level instruction on Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), non-standard components, construction, materials, placement, and triggering mechanisms
  • Instruct foreign security forces on demolitions tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), adapting training to their specific operational environments and capabilities
  • Advise on the procurement, maintenance, and safe handling of demolitions equipment and materials
  • Develop and maintain detailed training materials, including lesson plans, practical exercise scenarios, and evaluation criteria
  • Operate effectively in austere environments with limited resources, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborate effectively with interpreters and cultural advisors to ensure effective communication and understanding during training engagements
  • Contribute to the development of new training methodologies and technologies
  • Maintain situational awareness of current IED threats and counter-IED tactics
  • Additional duties as assigned or required 

What we are looking for

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Experience within a US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) unit (e.g., Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Recon)
  • Extensive experience in IEDs, military demolitions, including breaching, shaping charges, and demolition planning
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding how to resource, assemble, and implement IEDs
  • OCONUS experience, with a proven track record of successful operations and/or training engagements in complex environments
  • Proven experience instructing and mentoring security forces
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team in austere conditions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to deploy up to 50% of the time as required by mission needs
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance, with the continued ability to obtain TS/SCI

  • 10 years of experience within a US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) unit (e.g., Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Recon)
  • Formal instructor certifications (e.g., TRADOC, USMC Instructor Training)
  • Experience with Counter-IED (C-IED) tactics and procedures
  • Proven experience instructing and mentoring foreign security forces
  • Experience working with interpreters and navigating cultural sensitivities
  • Language proficiency in any of the INDOPACOM regions
  • Language proficiency in the Chinese language (Mandarin or Cantonese) highly desirable
  • Clearance: Possess and maintain a TS/SCI

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
