The Senior Marine Welder position will support contracted skilled trades work on our Elevator Support Unit (ESU). You will help us with installations and alterations to Weapon Elevators, Aircraft Elevators, and their associated systems on U.S. Navy ships. Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required.

What You Will Do

Provides welding support certified in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) or Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).on Plate or Pipe

Uses Brazing and / or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Ensures shop safety and housekeeping are followed

Ensures all materials and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected, and maintained

Recognizes, set ups, and operates hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
What You Must Have
-
Minimum 6 years specific experience as a qualified production welder.

Must be able to Obtain and Maintain a DBIDS badge, a DoD Security Clearance, and must be a US Citizen.

Demonstrated ability to read schematics, follow detailed instructions, and be self-motivated

Must be able to read, interpret, and follow detailed oral and written instructions, schematics and/or drawings, and to conduct activities in a safe manner

Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedure appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
Bonus Points For...

8 years specific experience as a qualified production welder preferred.

Production welder experience while in the Navy or working as a civilian production welder supporting Navy ship repair or new construction

Completion of a formal course of Vocational or Navy welding training and certification
