We are seeking a Material Distribution Handler to support the facilities team at our Office and Warehouse at our Bremerton, WA location. Responsibilities include prepping specific vehicles at the warehouse facility to perform daily runs to local bases, shipyards, clients, vendors, and facilities for pickups and deliveries to/from/for our teams working various tasks located around our facility and surrounding Washington state areas (Bremerton, Pugent Sound Naval Shipyard, Vigor/Seattle, Everett, Fife, and occasionally elsewhere). Vehicles range from trucks (F250-like), flatbeds (F450 or International) as well as commercial vans. Typical work hours will be from 0630 - 1500. 

What You Will Do

  • Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data.

  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.

  • Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations.

  • May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

  • Physically receive items that are delivered to facility.

  • Place items in proper cages/places (using forklift, etc.)

  • Physically inventory (verifying packing slip with shipment) 

  • Entering shipment/material info into Costpoint Financial System within specified limits

  • Secure items into segregated areas based on procedures, government material procedures.

  • Transfer government material/equipment to appropriate LPAs.

What You Must Have

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.

  • Must have a minimum of 6 months professional experience driving a medium Gross Vehicle Mass Rating (GVMR) vehicle (between 10,000 – 26,000 pounds) and/or higher.

    • 1 year Experience Medium DOT trucks (flatbed)

    • 1 year Experience Small DOT trucks (trucks)

    • 1 year Experience Small DOT 15/12/11 passenger vans 

  • Must have professional experience driving a Forklift.

  • Must have ability to obtain/maintain badges for shipyard and base access DBIDS, NAVSEA, and CIA areas.

  • Must have experience inventorying.  

Bonus Points For...

  • Experience with Costpoint - Purchasing/Receiving financial system preferred.

  • Experience with eQuip- Material tracking system preferred.

  • Experience with tool tracking software program a plus.
  • Candidates with current or past forklift certification a plus.

  • CDL a plus

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
