This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems.

Job Description
HII’s Mission Technologies division is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that advance national security and defense objectives. We are actively looking for a Facilities Operation Specialist. This position is part of our Cyber and Intelligence division, which plays a critical role in supporting Enterprise-Level Security and Modernization efforts across IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical facilities, and personnel operations.
The Facilities Operations Assistant provides technical support for the daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of physical infrastructure, building utilities, logistics, and low-voltage systems within a facility. Operating under the direction of the building manager, this position performs hardware adjustments, technical testing, and administrative coordination to maintain physical, acoustic, and facility infrastructure standards. This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory, leadership, or policy-making responsibilities.
The selected candidate will contribute to a high-impact government program focused on enhancing and securing mission-critical systems and environments. Due to the classified nature of the mission and the sensitivity of the operational environment, an active TS/SCI security clearance will be required with ability to obtain and maintain a CI Poly
Facilities Coordinator 2: $55,000 - $70,000
Facilities Coordinator 3: $60,500 - $80,000

Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Technical Maintenance, Testing & Facility Upkeep
- Routine Upkeep: Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs on security, communication, and basic facility hardware components.
- Physical Structure Repair: Performs structural repairs, including minor drywall patching, wall cove repairs, minor floor tile repairs, and interior wall painting.
- Component Replacement: Replaces faulty field equipment, including perimeter sensors, door contacts, access control wiring, and low-voltage electronic parts.
- Perimeter Integrity: Conducts technical assessments on physical perimeter structures like automated boom gates, turnstiles, and entry points, coordinating major repairs with authorized entities.
- Hardware Administration: Operates facility access badge equipment and completes physical hardware repairs on badge printers, biometric scanners, and camera parts.
- Technical Compliance Testing: Assists the building manager with regular facility technical testing, including semi-annual hardware and physical standard inspections.
2. Low-Voltage, Telecom & Infrastructure Support
- Behind-the-Wall Routing: Routes low-voltage wire behind walls, fishing, pulling, and securing cables according to facility infrastructure blueprints.
- Triage Support: Responds to system outages or facility emergencies by providing immediate physical triage and reporting status updates to the building manager.
3. Utilities & HVAC Operations
- DDC Building Management: Monitors, tracks, and adjusts the Direct Digital Control (DDC) building management system to regulate environmental settings and maintain infrastructure efficiency.
- HVAC System Triage: Investigates, diagnoses, and troubleshoots Air Handling Units (AHU) to isolate mechanical or airflow issues prior to vendor dispatch.
- Plumbing System Adjustments: Investigates and troubleshoots facility plumbing systems, resolving localized line blockages, component leaks, or minor pressure fluctuations.
4. Logistics, Material Handling & Procurement
- Logistics Support: Manages material movement, workspace staging, and general logistics support within the facility.
- MHE Operations: Obtains and maintains operator licenses for Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to operate mechanical lifts and machinery.
- Forklift Fleet Upkeep: Monitors, tracks, and documents the preventative forklift maintenance plan to maintain vehicle safety and operational uptime.
- Procurement Processing: Prepares, formats, and routes purchase requests for approval to keep technical parts, components, and maintenance tools in stock.
- Deficiency Remediation: Identifies structural deficiencies or hardware vulnerabilities during daily inspections, correcting minor mechanical faults and reporting larger upkeep needs to the building manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Must have basic technical knowledge (such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance) and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
- Must possess a general understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work independently.
- Active TS/SCI required to start
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph to remain in position
Level Requirements
- Level 2: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Level 3: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Level 4: High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Technical school education preferred.
- Two (2) year maintenance experience preferred.
