Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Developer to assist with the implementation of ServiceNow Enterprise Agile Planning and migration from Jira to ServiceNow, for a DoD Agency’s Directorate of Information Management and Technology (IM&T)! *Position is considered to be fully remote, with some travel required (into Arlington, VA and/or Mechanicsburg, PA) on a quarterly basis!

What you will do

  • Responsible for implementing ServiceNow’s Agile features for work falling under both project and operations and sustainment (O&S) activities.
  • Serve as ServiceNow SME and inform stakeholders on ServiceNow license / product upgrades
  • Support upgrade from Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Standard to SPM Professional, and implementation of Enterprise Agile Planning (EAP) features, as needed
  • Consult with product teams to analyze and migrate existing JIRA projects, boards, and issues to ServiceNow
  • Responsible for integrating the agile module into existing ServiceNow processes to support the organization’s idea, demand and project management workflows and the Product Service Delivery Framework (PSDF) to meet the needs of the organization’s IT teams and its stakeholders
  • Responsible for creating, developing, customizing and maintaining workflows, dashboards, reports, and solutions
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining necessary technical documentation and Knowledge Transfer User guides for distribution to IM&T personnel
  • Participate in meetings as necessary, Lead efforts as assigned, and Coordinate as required
  • Responsible for providing weekly status report on progress to IM&T
  • Responsible for creating technical requirements based on functional requirements
  • Follow established IM&T processes for Agile software development, testing, and documentation
  • Assist in the development of training material for distribution to IM&T workforce
  • Participate in hands-on training efforts with required personnel
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency developing and configuring ServiceNow (particularly the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) applications)
  • Proficient knowledge and skilled application of scripting (JavaScript, Glidescript), workflows, UI policies, permission management, and business rules (knowledge of the Idea, Demand, Agile Development, and Project Portfolio Management modules)
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile development processes (particularly in the context of large-scale enterprises preferred)
  • Deep understanding of intake/demand management, IT governance, SDLC and IT services delivery processes, and the ability to integrate these within the ServiceNow environment
  • Migration experience from Jira to ServiceNow
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance

Bonus points for...

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow (particularly the SPM platform/applications)
  • 3+ years with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile development processes (particularly in the context of large-scale enterprises)
  • ServiceNow Certifications: Certified Application Developer (CAD), Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS), or other relevant certifications
  • SAFe Certification: Certification in SAFe or equivalent Agile frameworks is a plus
  • Experience with enterprise-level integrations; familiarity with APIs (REST/SOAP) and integration tools/plugins for ServiceNow
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT Operations Management (ITOM) is beneficial
