Job Description

Join the growing Warfare Systems Business Group at HII-Mission Technologies! We are seeking a Mid-Level QA Software Tester (Programmer Analyst) to support the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications and data platforms. You will design and execute test strategies, develop automated test scripts, and work with modern technologies including Python, SQL, Databricks, ADVANA, React, and Flask to deliver high-quality solutions that support DSCA’s mission of security cooperation, transparency, and data-driven decision making.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Builds and codes applications and/or modules using primarily Python. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Perform manual and automated testing across front-end (React), back-end (Flask/Python), and data platforms (Databricks, SQL, ADVANA).
  • Design and implement automated test frameworks using Python and industry-standard tools to support functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and product teams to identify, document, and track defects through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity within Databricks and ADVANA environments.
  • Conduct API testing, database validation (SQL), and end-to-end testing of mission-critical applications.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing clear testing status and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of QA processes, test automation standards, and overall software quality practices.
  • Document test results, create defect reports, and support root cause analysis for complex issues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned or required to advance mission goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid experience in software quality assurance and testing (manual + automated).
  • Proficiency with Python for test automation and scripting.
  • Experience testing web applications (React) and APIs (Flask or similar).
  • Strong SQL skills for database testing and data validation.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in collaborative team settings.
  • Self-motivated initiator with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance.
  • Remote-eligible position; must align with Eastern Time Zone core business hours, 0900-1500ET, where you are active, online, and available.

 

Programmer Analyst II

2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.

Programmer Analyst III

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. 

Programmer Analyst IV

9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and ADVANA platforms.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, or Robot Framework).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments, particularly AWS or Azure Government.
  • Experience testing data pipelines, ETL processes, or analytics platforms.
  • Understanding of DoD or federal government compliance and security testing requirements.
  • Experience in SAFe Agile environments, including participation in PI planning and Scrum/Kanban ceremonies.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods while working at a computer.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment to perform analytical tasks.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in virtual meetings, briefings, and secure collaboration environments.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and interpret digital data for extended periods with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Occasional light lifting of documents or equipment up to 10 lbs, if needed for home-office setup.
  • Must maintain a home work environment that meets company and government security requirements (e.g., controlled space for handling sensitive or FOUO information, if applicable).
  • Must be able to work assigned East Coast core business hours to support program and customer requirements.
  • This is a full‑time remote role. Team members are expected to be online, available, and responsive during their scheduled work hours to support collaboration and customer needs.
