Job Description
HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a skilled Software Engineer (AI/ML) to provide strategic insight into the overall analytics roadmap of our DoD customer’s organization and apply statistical and machine learning methods to solve large-scale problems, including the full modeling lifecycle.
You will be supporting a security organization whose mission is to protect our nation's critical assets through enterprise risk management, continuous innovation, and excellence in mission performance and customer service!
Location & Schedule: This position follows a hybrid work model, with some onsite attendance required in Odenton, MD.
Security Clearance: Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance to be eligible for consideration.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity with the data and processes, including image review, data analysis, and image data set curation, preparing and processing data
- Investigate and determine suitable machine learning technologies and available open-source resources (software applications, coding, and curated datasets) for a data-sparse context
- Conduct data exploration, analysis, and feature extraction, to incorporate into government roadmaps and data pipelines
- Provide strategic insight into the overall analytics roadmap of the organization, working closely with product owners, engineering and product development teams
- Apply statistical and machine learning methods to solve large-scale problems, including the full modeling lifecycle (e.g., data manipulation, building and evaluating models, interpreting and effectively communicating results, transitioning solutions to production, performance monitoring, recalibrating models, etc.)
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and create data visualization to summarize the modeling insights to effectively communicate them to internal team members and business stakeholders
- Present information using data visualization techniques to senior stakeholders across the agency
- Proposes solutions and strategies to unique business challenges throughout the agency
- Additional duties as assigned or required
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
- Industry experience with statistical software (Python, R) and database languages (SQL)
- Experience with data analytics/visualization tools
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning, to create and build machine learning models with Python, Spark, Databricks, and other libraries as determined
- Experience in data analysis, including:
- Querying, segmenting, and visualizing data to evaluate hypotheses
- Communicating impact to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working with different types of datasets (unstructured, semi-structured, with missing information) and building data pipelines from end to end:
- Understanding business use cases and requirements for different internal teams
- Cleaning, evaluating, and visualizing data
- Feature engineering
- Model exploration and evaluation
- Maintenance
- IATT Lvl 2 Compliance: Must possess or be able to obtain by start of employment CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or SSCP.
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
Preferred Requirements
- Masters in data Analytics, Engineering, Science or related technical discipline
- Knowledge of DoD business practices highly desired
- Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
- Machine Learning: Artificial Neural Network (ANN), GANs, Bayesian Network/BBN, Regression, Logistic Regression, Decisions Tree, Elastic-net regularized generalized linear models (built in R), k-NN, SVM, Clustering, Page Rank and PCA, MCA,
- MFC, aPriori and other Data Mining and Deep Learning Algorithms
- Familiarity with Java or C++
