We are seeking a talented and experienced mid-level Scrum Master to join our team. As a Scrum Master, you will facilitate and support our agile/scrum development teams in delivering high-quality products and services. This hybrid role requires being on the customer site at least 1 day a week in Odenton, MD, allowing you to build strong relationships with clients and foster a culture of continuous improvement in executing the agile process efficiently.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!
• Organize and facilitate Scrum events (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) and ensure their effectiveness.
• Facilitate the removal of impediments, manage risks and dependencies, and track team’s progress toward goals.
• Track and report key agile metrics, such as sprint velocity, burndown charts, and team performance, to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with the Product Owner and development team to prioritize work items and maintain the product backlog.
• Assist the Product Owner in refining user stories, estimating effort, and defining acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to improve the overall effectiveness of Agile practices within the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination of project deliverables.
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and information sharing.
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging experimentation, learning, and adaptation.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: I have already done that or have it!
• Security Clearance: A current Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship required. Can also consider candidates with a TS/SCI clearance.
• 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
• 8 years of experience as a Scrum Master with SW development experience, with a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
• Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or SAFe Agilist.
• Experience working as a Scrum Master within an Agile/Scrum framework and its application in product development and delivery.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
• Experience working in agile environments, leading scrum teams or task teams.
• Proven track record of coaching and mentoring agile teams to improve their performance and deliver value to customers.
• Familiar with DevSecOps tools and techniques such as modern IDE's, GitHub, containerization, everything as code, and zero-trust.
• Strong understanding of Agile concepts with an emphasis on SAFe including Scrum, Kanban, Product Ownership, and Agile Scaling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to coach and mentor teams at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for driving change and continuous improvement.
• IATT Level 2 Compliance: Must possess or be able to obtain within 60 days of start of employment (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or SSCP.)
Preferred Requirements
• Experience working in a government or military environment.
• PSM I or PSM II (preference toward PSM II) certification.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with agile project management tools such as Jira or Trello.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
• Experience with Software Engineering, Cloud Technologies and Cyber Security.
• Technical background strong enough to determine system requirements and work closely with engineering and product owners to ensure accurate priorities and estimations
