Who We Are
HII Mission Technologies’ NITE (Naval Information Technology Enterprise) group is seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Technical Support Specialist to provide frontline technical assistance to end users supporting mission‑critical Navy and DoD operations. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with strong communication skills, a service‑oriented mindset, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly secure environment.
This is an hourly position that pays $38.00/hr per CBA.
What You Will Do
- Candidate must have extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: procurement, shipping and receiving, or inventory control.
- Communicate directly by radio with military aviators during combat training missions.
- Monitor aircraft ordnance drops and electronically score for accuracy.
- Obtain and record scoring information via computerized programs.
- Ensure safe training environment through personnel access control.
- Operate and maintain electronic scoring systems and other range target and simulator systems.
- Perform maintenance on systems.
- Complete and maintain Job Qualification Standards (JQS) within specified timeframes.
Additional duties may include, but not be limited to:
- Driving pickup trucks and all-terrain vehicles or similar vehicles
- Maintenance of targets and range assets
- Facility access control and security system maintenance
- Facility maintenance and housekeeping duties
- Working to a flexible schedule due to mission requirements
- Travel to support mission requirements
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
What You Must Have
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related experience.
- Candidate must have experience in military or civilian air traffic control, radio communications, or training range operations and maintenance.
- Candidate must have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Candidate must possess a valid driver’s licence.
- Candidate must submit to laser operations ocular examination as required.
Physical Requirements
- Minimal mobility, dexterity, or coordination required to operate common business machines.
- Required to work in environmentally controlled and uncontrolled area.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Climb a 100 foot of tower staircase.
- Working in areas where exposure to snakes and insects is possible.
