Job Description
The objective of the Space Protection and Response Solutions is to provide innovative technology solutions to ensure our Nation’s space mission capabilities in a multi-domain, joint and coalition conflict. We're looking for a senior software engineer to use the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling simulation software to support space control and multi-domain operations. These simulations will support force structure planning, National Space Test and Training Complex – Digital, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems. As a Software Engineer 3, you will be expected to maintain and manage workflow of junior engineers, in addition to leading projects under the Space Protection and Response Solution program. The majority of work will be on-site at Kirtland AFB inside of JWICS terminals for classified information exchange, team meetings, with periodic travel to support various customers across the continental US.
Must possess current U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Leads an agile team of developers and modelers. Coordinates team activities via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira. Performs code reviews and ensures work quality remains high. Works with government leadership to keep the team on course. Works with customers to capture requirements and feedback. Updates status and presents progress to local leadership and customers. Conducts multidisciplinary research to support team development and modeling objectives. Contributes to broader team vision and direction discussions. Contributes to simulation software architecture discussions. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs space simulation software.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Proficient in C++.
- Completion of a technical coding challenge in C++.
- Understands compiling, linking, and debugging of C++ applications.
- Experience in constructive agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation.
- Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation, etc.).
- Passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Preferred Requirements
- Python proficiency including embedded Python applications.
- AFSIM proficiency.
- Space domain awareness knowledge.
- Space combat power knowledge.
- Math or physics background.
- Parallel software development knowledge.
- US and Allied space enterprise position experience.
- Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
