Summary
The objective of the Space Development group is to provide innovative technology solutions to ensure our Nation achieves and maintains space superiority in a multi-domain conflict. We're looking for a software engineer to develop a visualizer in Unreal for space combat power and multi-domain simulation software. This software will support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems. The work will be remote, with possible travel to Kirkland AFB NM required.
Final interview contingent on a technical coding assessment in C++.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Interacts with the team via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira.
• Performs code reviews and ensures work quality remains high. Updates status and presents progress to local leadership and customers.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research to support team development and modeling objectives. Contributes to broader team vision and direction discussions.
• Contributes to simulation software architecture discussions.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs space simulation software visualizer.
What You Must Have
• 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• Proficient in C++.
• Proficient in Unreal.
• Strong understanding of compiling, linking, and debugging of C++ applications.
• Passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Requirements
• Proficiency in Python, including embedded Python applications
• Experience with parallel software development
• Familiarity with GUI or game development
• Hands-on experience in constructive agent-based and event-driven modeling and simulation
• Basic understanding of space concepts such as coordinate systems, timekeeping, and orbital propagation
• Knowledge of space domain awareness (SDA)
• Insight into space combat power dynamics
• Prior experience with US and Allied space enterprise positions
• Strong foundation in mathematics or physics
