Who We Are

Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Software Engineer to join our Space Protection and Response solution team at Kirtland Air Force Base. In this role, you will support the Principal AI/ML Engineer in advancing space simulation technologies and leading artificial intelligence development for our United States Space Force (USSF) customer.
You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of AI engineers, modeling and simulation experts, product owners, and program managers to develop cutting-edge AI models that integrate into a larger simulation pipeline. These models will deliver operational value across multi-domain, joint service operations, supporting force structure planning, combatant command analysis, Space Force testing and training, and space systems R&D.

What You Will Do

•    Develop, research, and apply machine learning, deep learning, and visual AI algorithms to data sets for operational deployment.
•    Formulate hypotheses based on data analysis and trends; compare real-time results with predictions to refine and optimize algorithms.
•    Design and implement assessment methods to ensure production models are robust, reliable, and mission-ready.
•    Apply AI/ML to domains such as pattern recognition, target detection and tracking, decision systems, robotics, language and speech recognition, machine translation, and information extraction.
•    Collaborate across business units and stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

•    0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
•    Proficiency in Python, C++, and .NET.
•    Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and software engineering.
•    Practical experience building and maintaining ML platforms and pipelines.
•    Familiarity with data processing frameworks and modern software development practices including Scrum/Agile, Git, and DevOps.
•    Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.

Preferred Requirements

•    Experience in U.S. and Allied space enterprise positions, with knowledge or experience in modeling space phenomena, orbital dynamics, sensors, communication nodes, cyber systems, and simulation environments.
•    Ability to research and deliver new technologies that enhance simulation computational performance.
•    Understanding of DSP/GPU/SIMD programming.
•    Knowledge of massively parallel, distributed, and message-based programming architectures.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
