This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Who We Are

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead quality oversight for technical assessment deliverables supporting Government clients. This role is critical to ensuring consistent excellence in final reports, technical analyses, and assessment documentation delivered to DoD customers. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain quality standards, implement process improvements, and provide leadership to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed contractual requirements and Government expectations. Position located in Albuquerque, NM; full-time on-site presence required.

What You Will Do

Quality Oversight & Assurance

  • Provide comprehensive quality assurance oversight and management for all technical deliverables, including final reports, technical assessments, test plans, and analytical products
  • Conduct detailed pre-submission reviews to ensure technical accuracy, analytical rigor, clarity of writing, proper formatting, and alignment with Government requirements
  • Develop and maintain quality checklists, style guides, and standardized review protocols to ensure consistency across all deliverable types
  • Identify quality trends, patterns, and systemic issues; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Track deliverable quality metrics and performance indicators; report status to program leadership and Government stakeholders

Process Improvement & Standards Development

  • Design and implement quality management processes that scale with increased deliverable volume and compressed production timelines
  • Establish and enforce technical writing standards, formatting guidelines, and quality benchmarks aligned with Government expectations
  • Develop pre-submission review workflows that balance thoroughness with production efficiency
  • Create and maintain templates, exemplars, and best practice guides to support consistent quality
  • Collaborate with Technical Assurance Manager and Technical Writer to streamline review cycles and reduce rework

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead coordination between technical analysts, subject matter experts, and quality reviewers throughout the deliverable lifecycle
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to technical staff on writing quality, analytical presentation, and adherence to standards
  • Facilitate lessons learned sessions following deliverable submissions to identify improvement opportunities
  • Build collaborative relationships with Government Project Officers, CORs, and evaluation personnel to understand quality expectations
  • Fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities and tight deadlines
  • High-volume deliverable production (90-110+ deliverables annually)
  • Collaborative team environment requiring frequent coordination with technical staff and Government personnel
  • Compressed production timelines requiring efficient review processes and flexibility
  • Performance directly impacts Government customer satisfaction and contract performance ratings

Risk Management & Problem Resolution

  • Proactively identify quality risks early in deliverable development; implement mitigation strategies
  • Manage deliverable production schedules to ensure adequate time for quality review without compromising delivery timelines
  • Resolve quality issues quickly and effectively; escalate systemic concerns to program leadership
  • Develop contingency plans for high-volume periods, compressed timelines, and resource constraints
  • Metrics & Reporting
  • Track Government deliverable ratings (Superior, Satisfactory, Marginal, Unsatisfactory) and identify performance trends
  • Produce monthly quality performance reports for internal leadership and Government stakeholders
  • Analyze root causes of quality deficiencies; develop and track corrective action effectiveness
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality processes, review outcomes, and improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing quality assurance teams, technical editing, and deliverable management for Government contracts
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality processes for technical reports, assessments, or analytical products
  • Proven track record improving deliverable quality performance in DoD or Federal contracting environment
  • Expert knowledge of technical writing principles, style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, AP), and Government documentation standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); Adobe Acrobat; collaboration platforms
  • Experience with quality management systems, document control processes, and configuration management
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify patterns, trends, and systemic issues in quality data
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to identify technical inaccuracies, logical inconsistencies, and presentation issues
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent reviews under tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to provide constructive feedback diplomatically
  • Process-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to design, implement, and enforce quality standards
  • Problem-solving capability with track record of implementing effective corrective actions
  • Active Secret security clearance required 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field
  • Master's degree in relevant field
  • Professional certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with DoD test and evaluation processes, operational assessments, or technical analysis
  • Familiarity with CDRL requirements, DID specifications, and Government contract deliverable standards
  • Previous experience managing quality for 30+ deliverables annually
  • Background in cybersecurity, information technology, or related technical domain
  • Experience implementing process improvements that resulted in measurable quality performance gains
