This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary
This is an UNPAID internship through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning active-duty US military personnel. DoD SkillBridge Internships are available to help transitioning active-duty military personnel gain real-world experience in the work force sometime during their final 180 days of active-duty service. The intern will actively train on meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior company leadership. HII Mission Technologies Internship programs are focused on placing transitioning military into internships that require KSAs, Education & Military Training similar to their current or previous military jobs; positions that could easily transition over to a full-time regular and permanent job with HII.
Objective
The SkillBridge intern will train as a JIOC-K Graphic Designer within HII-Mission Technologies, reporting to a designated HII Supervisor, with the goal of learning support the United States Forces Korea (USFK), Assistant Chief of Staff, J2 (ACofS, J2) JIOC-K in their mission to provide timely intelligence to Commander, USFK and Combined Forces Command, the combined battle staff, and war fighter component commanders. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.
Desired End State (3-4 month target)
- At the end of three months, the intern gains proficiency in graphic software and Illustration tools, understands the intelligence production process, and can effectively collaborate with analysts and senior leaders.
- The intern will re-emphasize the importance of quality control and the ability to enhance and visually convey analytic assessments.
- Mission Technologies will benefit from the military background of the SkillBridge intern and considers the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience.
Assumptions/Restrictions
- If candidate is selected and approved, SkillBridge Intern can travel in conjunction with this internship; HII Mission Technologies.
- SkillBridge Intern will be available during core hours (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) for critical meetings and training.

Training Plan
Week 1-2 - Introduction and Orientation
- Overview of JIOC-K and its mission
- Security protocols and TS/SCI clearance procedures
- Introduction to graphic software tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CorelDRAW, etc.)
- Basic training on tasking and tracking systems (TMT, e-Tasks, COLISEUM)
Week 3-4 - Graphic Software Proficiency
- Advanced training on Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic software
- Hands-on projects to create intelligence product solutions
- Quality control techniques for graphic products
- Introduction to JWICS, SIPR, NIPR, and CENTRIXS-K networks
Week 5-6: Collaboration and Enhancement
- Collaborating with analysts to understand requirements
- Developing graphics and layout solutions for analytic assessments
- Enhancing visual content for briefing materials
- Practical exercises in creating and updating intelligence products
Week 7-8: Briefing Materials Preparation
- Preparing briefing materials for J2 senior level engagements, TDYs, conferences, or meetings
- Enhancing the visual content of briefing materials
- Mock presentations and feedback sessions
- Continued practice on tasking and tracking systems
Week 9-10: Monitoring and Coordination
- Monitoring, tracking, distributing, coordinating, and maintaining tasking and tracking systems
- Hands-on training with Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) and RFI functions
- Practical exercises on JWICS, SIPR, NIPR, and CENTRIXS-K networks
- Quality control and enhancement updates
Week 11: Integration and Final Projects
- Integration of all skills learned
- Final project: Create a comprehensive intelligence product with graphics and layout solutions
- Peer review and feedback
- Preparation for final presentation
Week 12: Evaluation and Certification
- Final presentations to J2 senior level
- Evaluation of performance and feedback
- Discussion of future career opportunities and next steps
Minimum Qualifications
accepted within final 12 months of active-duty military service.
- Must currently possess a TS/SCI security clearance with CI Poly
- 4 years of Military Intelligence related experience, including briefing, presentation production, and intelligence cycle support to Senior Leadership.
- Extensive Graphic illustration, PowerPoint, Adobe, and presentation skills required.
- INDOPACOM experience preferred.

Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s with 8 years of experience preferred
- Recent applicable experience within the last 2 years also preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in creating graphics to illustrate intelligence findings.
- Demonstrated excellence in understanding the intelligence production cycle.
- Experience using PowerPoint, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite of software.
- Familiar with TMT, eTST, Orders Tracker, Commander's RFI tracker, and COLISEUM or equivalent systems
- Familiar with the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)
- Korea experience
Physical Requirements
- Will be required to work in an office/SCIF environment.
- May be required to travel during this internship.
- If offered a full-time employment position post internship, must be willing to remain in S. Korea for employment post military service.
- Must possess a current US Passport
