Job Description

We're at the forefront of developing next-generation directed energy solutions that are transforming modern defense capabilities.  Our work on the U.S. Army's Enduring High Energy Laser (E-HEL) weapon systems program represents a significant investment in the cutting-edge technology designed to counter emerging threasts.  We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Engineer who will analyze, plan, track, manage, and lead the execution of tasks, while effectively negotiating with stakeholders and managing risks. Our ideal applicant will have strong leadership and team management skills with a technical background.  Applicants must be willing to consider an in-office work schedule.

Project Engineer Levels 3-5 - $83,593 - $190,000

 

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications


•    Strong oral and written communication skills.  
•    Ability to translate functional requirements into tasks. 
•    Knowledge of risk management tools. 
•    Must be able to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines. 
•    Self-motivated with strong work-ethic. 
•    Clearance: Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.

•    Mid to Senior Level:  5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. 
•    Senior Level:  9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. 
•    Senior Lead Level:  15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

 

Preferred Requirements

•    8 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Master's in related field; or 5 years relevant experience with PhD in related field. 
•    Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field.  
•    Experience working within Department of Defense contracts. 
•    Experience leading teams and managing budgets. 
•    Experience making significant decisions for business. 
•    Experience in leading risk management efforts. 
•    Experience in high energy laser programs. 
•    Relationships with directed energy customers and industry players. 
•    Clearance: Active SECRET security clearance. 

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
