Job Description

HII’s Mission Technologies division develops integrated solutions that enable today’s connected, all-domain force. Capabilities include C5ISR systems and operations; the application of AI and machine learning to battlefield decisions; defensive and offensive cyberspace strategies and EW; unmanned, autonomous systems; LVC solutions; platform modernization; and critical nuclear operations.

We have a need for a Journeyman Systems Engineer for our Mission Technologies Division, which has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.

This position will support the Strike Systems Program Office (B-21) located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.  An active TS/SCI security clearance is required.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support development and review of the full range of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
  • Support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs and assist with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL-HDBK-516 and the AF Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes as prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201.
  • Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
  • Conduct review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
  • Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
  • Participate with program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.
  • Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Assist with development of contract and documentation changes and/or updates and support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 9 years of relevant DoD experience.
  • Experience with the systems engineering process, requirements analysis, system design process, system integration, requirements verification / validation, and Development Test / Operational Test (DT/OT) processes. 
  • Experience evaluating technical proposals in order to provide advice on the evaluation of technical proposals. Familiar with DoD acquisitions process.
  • Clearance: An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
