Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Simulations Hardware/Software Engineer to provide Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS) technical and functional Constructive Simulation and Gaming support to TRADOC Centers of Excellence (COE) and Schools. This work provides technical and functional end-to-end simulation to Mission Command Systems (MCS) training functionality using TRADOC Proponent Office – Constructive (TPO-C) low overhead simulations and TRADOC Proponent Office – Virtual & Gaming (TPO-V&G) games. Simulations and tools such as Army Games for Training (GFT), Virtual Battle Space (VBS), and Division eXercise Training and Review System (DXTRS) are employed to enhance staff training at the lower continuum of training thresholds with the purpose of enhancing Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and staff training in each respective TRADOC Institutions training curriculum. #LI-SC1

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designs and plans network systems.
  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
    • In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience in software development, simulation integration within the Microsoft Windows and Linux family of operating systems; to include expertise in hardware and software standards and protocols; ability to apply architectures to real world requirements using current Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVC-G) platforms.
  • Experience in software testing, analysis, troubleshooting, problem trouble reports development, management and documentation (PTRs), and operating current gaming suite toolkit.  Must have expert knowledge of DXTRS database administration in DXTRS and have experience in database design and maintenance. 
  • Shall have the ability to write programs using C++, MFC, C#, Visual Basic, JAVA, XML, scripting languages, X programming and libraries and shall integrate networking packet protocols into simulation environments.
  • Experience in providing technical advice for gaming development as it relates to the (LVC-G) Training Environment.
  • A+, Security+ CCNA, Network+ and/or SSCP certifications or equivalent required.
  • Must have a current or active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout employment. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. #LI-SC3

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in military doctrine and training management, capability development, and Command and General Staff College graduate or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
